~SB~Opening PixelPaint Files:~SB~
One thing you have to remember is any extra data saved with the document is lost when opening a PixelPaint document with Vision Lab and saving it in a different format. In other words any custom brushes or program settings will ~SU~not~SU~ be remember by Vision Lab! The picture, however, will be loaded in its entirety.
~SB~Saving PixelPaint Files:~SB~
PixelPaint files are restricted to 8 bits of color. Vision Lab will automatically convert lower pixel depths to depths of 8 during the saving process. PixelPaint images cannot be larger than 1024 pixels across and 1024 pixels down. Attempting to save an image larger than this as a PixelPaint file will result in clipping the image to the maximum size. PixelPaint has a number of different canvas sizes it can work with. Vision Lab will automatically save the image using the smallest possible canvas size. PixelPaint documents take up ~SU~a~SU~ ~SU~lot~SU~ of disk space so be sure to have plenty of room available if you wish to save images in this format.
~SB~Pros:~SB~
PixelPaint files can be edited using 256 colors out of a palette over 16 million using the PixelPaint program.
~SB~Cons:~SB~
PixelPaint files are ~SU~large~SU~ and due to the compression method used open and save very slowly when being edited with PixelPaint. PixelPaint files are limited in size to 1024 pixels across and 1024 pixels down.
